Sauvie Island Pumpkin Patch

Portland, OR 97231
Located on Sauvie Island, a rural escape just 13 miles (21 km) north of downtown Portland, the Corn Maize offers visitors eight acres (3 hectares) of exciting twists and turns. But it’s not all about getting lost in nature; Two 16-foot (5 m) observation bridges provide picturesque panoramas with great views of the island and Mount Hood, as well as the maze itself.
Every year, the cornfield is carved with a different pattern, and the design is always sure to stump maze-goers while delighting fans of public art. Starting at the end of August, the maze is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and stays open until 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays in October (and on select days leading up to Halloween). Check out their website for more details.

Just when you think you’ve seen everything, you realize you’ve been missing the West Coast Giant Pumpkin Regatta. Since 2004, this cherished local event returns to the Tualatin Commons
every October with a series of races. The races are exactly what they sound like: costumed competitors piloting a gaggle of gigantic gourds through a watercourse on Tualatin Commons Lake. The regatta kicks off the day before the races with a pumpkin weigh-off at the Pumpkins and Pints event at Stickmen Brewing. The following day consists of a full day of pumpkin paddlers plying the shallow lake in giant pumpkin boats.

Portland Art Museum
1219 SW Park Ave, Portland, OR 97205
When 8,500 people descended on the Portland Art Museum for the revived Portland Book Festival (formerly “Wordstock”) in 2015, the message to its new organizer, Literary Arts, was clear: Portlanders love to get their read on, and this festival — missing in action for more than two years — had not been forgotten.
Founded in 2005 by local writer Larry Colton and renamed in 2018, the annual festival always featured an impressive lineup of local and national authors and a book fair. But its original incarnation, held at the expansive Oregon Convention Center through–2013, wasn’t quite the “metaphorical public square” that Literary Arts Executive Director Andrew Proctor, the festival’s new leader, had in mind.
Enter the Portland Art Museum. As the festival’s rebooted primary venue, the museum provides a backdrop for art, history and culture to merge with conversation, books and ideas. (Other venues include the nearby Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, Powell’s City of Books, Pioneer Place, The Northwest Children’s Theater and School and Rontoms). The festival is packed with on-stage author conversations, interviews, panels, interactive Q&A’s, pop-up readings in galleries and coffee shops, kids’ story times, live music, an expanded book fair and — in true Portland fashion — food trucks parked outside on festival day.

Claire is truly remarkable! She is deeply knowledgeable, not only about real estate, but about everything associated with it from helping with connecting to a lender, gathering estimates for work, recommending service providers and facilitating … More interactions with all parties including the title company. There were numerous issues that arose in my house purchase, but Claire and her team were right there with me making sure everything lined up to successfully close. I cannot imagine pursuing any real estate activity without Claire. In addition to her competence, she is a genuinely kind and caring human being. She has superlative listening skills, manages to juggle all the balls without dropping anything and was able to talk me out of the tree I was in multiple times. I have SO much gratitude to Claire - she is simply the best!

Heather and her team were such a delight to work with. We worked with Heather and Paris Realty to purchase and sell our home, back to back. She was so easy and enjoyable to work with, extremely responsive, and coordinated the process seamlessly. … More We felt like she advocated for us every step of the way with our home purchase. She orchestrated contractors to repair our home for selling, easing our burden significantly. We highly recommend Paris Realty to anyone buying or selling their home.

I worked with Claire for both buying and selling a condo and have nothing but good things to say. The selling experience was a bit more bumpy than the buying, and I wouldn't have wanted anyone other than Claire on my side. She really … More cared about and considered my circumstances and advocated for me when it mattered. I would 100% recommend her to anyone looking to buy or sell real estate in/around Portland!

I cannot express our gratitude and appreciation for Claire Paris and her team at Paris Group Realty. We started our search a year ago and Claire patiently stuck with us through this crazy real estate market. She answered EVERY single question … More we asked(even our kids questions!) and looked at every house we went to, likely knowing some were not gonna work for our family. Her explanations were clear and understandable. On top of being solidly aware of the Portland real estate market, she is able to walk through a house and recognize repairs, give estimates of how much work would cost, and give advice on whether or not remodels or changes could be made. She was an excellent resource for advice on home repairs and remodels. Claire has an extensive list of vetted contractors and made many calls for us and we were able to schedule right thru her group for work to be done in our new home.
Our purchase and subsequent sale of our old home happened very quickly and Claire and her team were on top of it! We had some worry during the selling negotiations of our old house, but Claire was strong and determined!! We cannot recommend Claire enough! She is solidly experienced, knowledgeable, extremely patient, kind, supportive, and tough when needs to be! We will definitely call Claire in the future if and when we move again! And, in the meantime, we will miss her! -

Heather was the listing agent on a residential real estate transaction. It was an emotional sale and our expectations were high. I couldn't have been happier with the outcome. Heather is a serious professional. Her support team, … More stagers, and vendor referrals were really strong. We had our house market ready in 3 weeks with me being out of state, and it was just smooth. I was truly impressed and give Paris Group my highest recommendation and praise. Thank you so much Heather! So grateful for all you did.

Claire was amazing, she walked us through everything and explained every question we had. A great unexpected value add was that Paris Group not only supplied a list of vetted contractors but arranged to have the work we wanted done. … More I would like to give a special shout out to Ty who coordinated EVERYTHING and answered my millions of questions.

As a first time home buyer, it was a great experience to work with Claire and her team. She was extremely helpful, very responsive, and always there for my questions. Claire and Josh went above and beyond, driving long distances to help … More me find my new home. Nikki was also greatly helpful and responsive in the process. Thanks a million!

We had the honor of working with Heather and Brittany on our transaction. Still speechless to the fight they put up to ensure strict deadlines are met, and far fetched dreams come true. When we started we didnt know what was possible, today … More we are in our new home and dont think we would have done anything of what we were able to accomplish during the holidays w PRG and Heather. Forever the BEST! Thank you, if you are lucky enough to work with Heather you will get what you are looking for and maybe even better like it happened for us 🙂 10 stars
